Turku will have been our easternmost destination on this year’s journey across the Baltic Sea. Initially, we wanted to continue on and visit Helsinki, Tallinn and Riga before returning to Sweden. But as always, plans change.

We opted for the harbor on the green island of Ruissalo rather than the city harbor. Staying in the city when the weather is so wonderfully warm and sunny makes no sense to is. Whenever we wanted to go into the city, we took the bus. Public transportation is really convenient and affordable in Finland.
