Lock at the beginning…

Lock at the beginning of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel.

You tie up the boat on a floating pontoon on rings. So no worries about the tidal differences. But it’s the first time we’ve ever had to disembark in a lock to secure the boat. In all the locks we’ve been in the Netherlands, this is either not necessary or not allowed.
